Windows Azure is Microsoft's cloud platform. It allows to host applications developed in .NET (and other languages) without having to set up an own server infrastructure. This is especially interesting for applications (like games) that may or may not experience fast growth.

Being designed for the cloud, APlay games support deployment to Azure out of the box. Multiple server ("role") instances communicate with each other to achieve a large connected world.

Visit Windows Azure for more information on the cloud platform.
